Diastasis Recti in men, women and children

A diastasis recti can occur in anyone….women, men and children. While pregnancy and childbirth are the most common cause of a diastasis, it can also occur due to:

  • Frequent and consistent practice of certain activities such as crunches and incorrect load bearing
  • Obesity
  • Laproscopic surgery
  • Genetics

Whatever the cause, a diastasis can inhibit you from doing the activities you love and leave you feeling disconnected from your body. It’s often the underlying cause of chronic pain and discomfort.

Heal your diastasis recti and return to the activities you love! Our evidence-based rehab program uses exercise, movement modification, manual therapy and education to restore your body’s abdominal wall and pelvic core strength.

What to expect

A diastasis recti is a whole body issue. The methods and tools we use consider what other conditions may be present (especially in the back and pelvic floor) and how the body moves in all its activities. We are the only practitioners in Colorado trained in the Tupler Technique®, giving us a researched and proven protocol to add to our toolbox.

At your first appointment we will:

  • Go over simple exercises to help heal your diastasis
  • Discuss how to use your core during your daily activities
  • Look at how you sit, stand and move to address any related issues
  • Develop a treatment plan that fits your schedule

After a few weeks of working on your own, you will have a follow-up appointment to see how you’ve progressed and learn next steps. You will leave each appointment with a plan to keep you moving forward.

Schedule your free belly check to discuss how to best move forward.
